Igbys' Beer Cheese is the Perfect Tailgating Appetizer

Want to make one of our FAVORITE apps from Igby’s at home? Take a look at this how-to for our crave-inducing beer cheese!

We suggest making this easy recipe to impress your friends & family. You won’t be able to eat this alone!

Ingredients:

2 lbs Cream Cheese

1 lb White Cheddar Cheese

1 Can Light Lager (MadTree Lift or equivalent)

1 Quart Heavy Cream

1 Tbsp Paprika

½ Tbsp Garlic Powder

½ Tbsp Garlic Powder

Soft Pretzels (Servatii’s)

Step One:

Over medium – high heat, combine 1 quart of heavy cream, 1 lb of white cheddar cheese, and 2 lbs of cream cheese. We recommend cutting down the cream cheese into smaller sections and adding them one-by-one as they melt.

Step Two:

Add seasoning. (Paprika, Onion Powder, and Garlic Powder)

Step Three:

Stir until combined.

Step Four:

Blend until smooth.

Step Five:

Add the (whole) beer

Step Six:

Put in an airtight container (good for up to 3 days) or serve with fresh Servatii’s pretzels!

This beer cheese recipe from Igby’s sounds dangerously good for tailgating. The step-by-step approach—melting the cheeses gradually, seasoning, then blending to a smooth finish—makes it feel very doable even if you’re hosting. I also love the note about using an airtight container for up to 3 days; that’s perfect for prepping ahead. If you’re hosting a game night too, a word finder would be a fun extra.
