Nothing says “summer” better than listening to your favorite musicians with a cold drink in hand. Whether you’re into country, rap, or rock – Cincinnati has it all going on over the next few months! Here are the top five summer concerts we’re looking forward to:
1. Red Hot Chili Peppers – U.S. Bank Arena (May 19th)
It’s easy to get amped when the notorious ‘Can’t Stop’ or ‘Give it Away’ comes on the radio, but have you felt the energy in person? RHCP never fails to connect with the audience through their music. It’s a non-stop party with shimmering lights moving with the crowd – thriving on the pulsating energy in the room. They’ve been touring for more than 30 years and know how to put on a killer show.
Before heading over to U.S. Bank, stop by the pre-game party at Keystone Covington for happy hour (includes food and drink specials). They’ll make sure you stay safe to and from the concert with tokens for the Southgate Shuttle!
2. Bunbury Music Festival – Yeatman’s Cove and Sawyer Point (June 2nd-4th)
If you love three days of non-stop music, look no further than our own backyard with Bunbury Music Festival! Held at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove, this multi-stage concert won’t disappoint. With bands like Muse, Wiz Khalifa, Flogging Molly, and Death Cab for Cutie, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re a front row concert-goer or you like to lounge in the back on a blanket, this is a summer must go!
If you’re still looking for tickets – Keystone Clifton, Trivia with a Twist, and Miller Lite are giving away a pair of tickets on May 24th.
3. The Weeknd – U.S. Bank Arena (June 9th)
Otherwise known as Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd brings passions alive in his performances during the Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour. This 90-minute show is filled with smoke, lights, lasers and yep, you guessed it – a full-blown space ship. The Weeknd is known for bringing musical guests onstage, any guesses for Cincinnati? I guess we’ll just have to find out…
This show falls on a Friday – perfect for an early afternoon happy hour stop at The Stretch with cocktails, wine, and beer on tap!
4. Miike Snow – Bogart’s (June 19th)
Last year, Guide Live said that Miike Snow “…is one of the best indie bands touring right now” and we expect nothing less this summer! Along with their undeniable talent, we can look forward to a one-of-a-kind show in every city. This dance party will keep the energy going late into the night. We love the small, intimate feel Bogart’s gives us with the artists…who’s in?
The St. Clair is just a few blocks away and offers happy hour until 8pm!
5. Jimmy Buffet & The Coral Reefer Band – Riverbend Music Center (July 8th)
If you like piña coladas and listening to feel-good music in the sunshine (or rain), this concert is the only one you’ll need this summer. This will be Jimmy Buffet’s 59th appearance in Cincinnati and you can bet on cheeseburger jokes, plenty of Parrotheads, and margaritas galore.
Is there a better way to kickoff a Jimmy Buffett concert than with your toes in the sand? Stop by The Sandbar before the concert for a pre-party fit for a Parrothead! It’s a quick trip to Riverbend from The Sandbar, and we’ll have drink and food specials for your day-drinking filled Saturday. After all, “Wrinkles will only go where the smiles have been.” – Jimmy Buffett.
Just like Cincinnati’s music scene, we’d like to think we’re got a pretty rad bar scene. We’d love to get you tickets to the show, start your night off, and get you there safely. ‘Like’ our pages on Facebook to keep up with the fun events we have planned all summer long!
Cheers!
